Surgical orthodontics is a combined treatment by Dr. Mantzikos and an oral-maxillofacial surgeon to correct jaw abnormalities. These issues are determined after reviewing the a patient’s diagnostic digital images and 3-D models of their teeth. Initially, Dr. Mantzikos levels and aligns the teeth in the jaw structures, then the oral surgeon positions the jaw structures into a more normal position to allow the bite to come together ideally. This procedure results in the improved ability to chew, speak, and breathe, while also delivering tremendous facial aesthetics.
